Thompson Ferrier is a luxury candle and fragrance brand, based in NYC. Their beautiful products cater to the aspirational, ranging in price from $200 - $3000 per candle, some of which are lined with 24k gold. Raffi came to us four years ago now, and since then we've managed to scale to a multi-million dollar brand.
Content Development & Systemisation: Due to the nature of the product, it was really important that we found a creative way to portray the fragrance aspect. We mass tested a variety of UGC video based creative, and found scalable, winning assets to leverage for both acquisition and retargeting. We implemented this into our creative testing system across all platforms in order to rapidly test content, and scale.
Highly Personalised Social Retargeting: With high price points comes a need for greater value within retargeting campaigns. Leveraging a variety of creatives, and audience segments within social ad platforms we were able to create a highly personalised journey through reviews, fragrance descriptions, styling videos and more to guide the customer to convert. This meant that everyone entering the funnel was nurtured, with multiple touch points across multiple platforms.
Leverage Google For Acquisition: We implemented PMAX, Shopping and Search campaigns for Thompson Ferrier, and the consistently high ROAS meant that we could quickly scale their Google ad spend. This has been a core platform for acquisition, allowing us to bring in high intent data into the funnel, and retarget throughout social ad platforms.
High Level A/B Testing For Email Automations: For email automation to work to its full potential, you need to be constantly A/B testing. We mass tested everything aspect of their email automation, allowing us to have a backend system that we knew could handle the increased scale, effectively nurture new subscribers, and convert repeat revenue consistently. It was then a case of continual optimisation and creative iterations to remain competitive creatively amongst similar brands, while remaining relevant to the time of year.
Highly Personalised Retention Marketing: Leveraging email and SMS campaigns, we were able to create a highly engaged audience of customers to focus on maximising retention opportunities. We leveraged a subscription model within this to create consistent, predictable revenue each month which has resulted in huge growth in revenue and LTV throughout the strategies.
The results that we’ve been able to achieve together have been exceptional, in our first year together we increased revenue by over 500%, and that growth trajectory has continued onwards. Meta ROAS has increased from 2.1x to 5.4x throughout the duration of our partnership, with hundreds of thousands more in ad spend. Within the first year of our partnership alone we also increased Google ROAS from 2.6x to 6.4x, and brought in TikTok ads, a completely new platform to the brand and managed to achieve a consistent 2.7x ROAS. Previously just 14% of revenue was attributed to email marketing, and within our first year together we managed to increase this to over 40%, which in turn led to returning customer rate increasing from 28% to 49% throughout our three years in partnership so far.
